A secure garden would be perfect for Hawk, giving him space to explore, chase butterflies and enjoy his zoomies. He’s also quite independent, keeping himself entertained with toys while his person is at work.
Hawk gets along well with the older female dog his size that he is in care with, though can take time to warm up to other dogs. He will bark and pull on lead when he sees dogs on his walk.
Hawk has made great progress—he’s now much calmer and warms up to new people more quickly. He still tends to bark and can give a little growl when first meeting new people so he would still do best in a home without young children.
This sweet boy thrives with a patient and understanding person who can offer him a stable, low-traffic home. He takes a little time to feel comfortable with visitors, so a peaceful household suits him best. To support his adjustment, Hawk is on anxiety medication which had made a positive change in his behaviour.
Above all, Hawk is a devoted companion who loves nothing more than cozy cuddles with his chosen human, a lovely yard to explore and someone to toss his toys for him.
Our dogs are living in private foster homes and are available for you to meet. By submitting an Expression of Interest Form, you will receive a response within 14 days. Our adoption fee includes a general health check, flea and worming treatment, vaccination, microchipping and desexing.
Our dogs are generally desexed at 6 months of age. If the dog you are applying for is too young for desexing, a voucher is provided for use at one of our approved vet providers only. A 14 day adoption trial period is available when adopting an animal from BARRC. Adoption fees are required to be paid in full before taking the animal onto trial.
